The QC logo was chosen by Shireen Qudosi and based on principle esoteric elements, including fundamentals of sacred geometry.
"Sacred Geometry is a study of the universal language of truth, harmony, beauty, proportion, rhythm and order. It is a blueprint of creation, an interface between the seen and unseen, the manifest and unmanifest. Sacred Geometry can be defined as an understanding of the underlying numerical and geometric Principles of Creation.
To truly understand Sacred Geometry we have to understand that everything in the universe is made up of energy and it is in a continual state of transformation. All actions obey distinct patterns, and Sacred Geometry describes these laws...
It also involved the study of the Stars and star maps and therefore connected us to the big Picture or Macrocosm, which our Ancestors believed was a mirror of the Small, Atomic, D.N.A Picture or Microcosm. Hence the famous saying 'As Above, so Below.'"
The initial shape in geometry is the circle, representative of unity and infinity. However, it is cyclic and it's not until the interjection of a cross, or intersecting lines much like the ancient astrological symbol for earth, that a cylce is able to break into different possibilities through the creation of squares. It is the square that is one of the most important symbols in sacred geometry, creating an infinite number of possibilities and leading to what is essentially called 'Doorway to the God Mind'.
The cross is also a major symbol in several faith groups, most notably Christianity. The recurring symbolism appears in Pantheism, Paganism and even in alchemy and astrology.
Additionally, the overlapping square also symbolizes the 8 point star, which links back to "As Above, so Below". Here are some additional facts:
- The number 8 is associated with the sun, and how we depend upon the intertwined relationship it has with earth. This is shown in its shape being the hourglass symbol of infinity, or "as above so below".
- The 8’s hourglass shape also resembles how the sun emits time (an anagram), providing us with seasons, and our sleep patterns. If you chart the position of the sun once a week for a year you will arrive at a graphing of an Analemma, which looks like a perfect figure 8 on its side.
- It takes 8 minutes for the sun’s rays to reach earth, and 8 days for the solar system to travel one Astrological Unit, based on the exact distance of the earth to the sun.
- The 8th tarot card is called “strength." It depicts a woman directing or controlling a lion, which has always been symbolic of the sun, namely Leo the lion. Most constellations tell a story of the sun’s journey through death and resurrection.
- The 8th house in the zodiac is Scorpio, which in according to mythology was sent by Gaia to “sting” Orion, just like how it “stings” the sun in the autumn months. It also comes as no shock that there are now 8 planets orbiting the sun (with Pluto being demoted on August 24th, 2006, or simply, 8-888-8).
- 888 is the Hebrew equivalent and value of Jesus. This only adds to the intrigue of Jesus being likened with the sun himself.
- The word “Achreia”, which in Greek means “One who does not owe debt” is the 888th word in the New Testament bible, hinting at the lack of sin in Jesus.
- The pagan architecture in the Vatican is decorated with 8 pointed star symbols, the papal palace right above the bedroom window of the pope, the Piazza ground, as well as St. Peter’s square. St. Peter in the basilica has him adorned with an 8-pointed halo overhead, while the dome above has a painted sun with 16 rays, as actual sunbeams seep through.
It is not that any one faith has claim to it, but that nearly all in some away allude to Sacred Geometry, hinting at something higher than ourselves, a cosmic perfection.
In the sands of time, lies the grain of our generation. A generation of billions of souls with infinite potential at the threshold of possibility,
ready for a new beginning and a brighter future as brilliant as a thousand suns.
A blazing future bursting with possibilities unimagined. A future that is ours if and only if we begin to step out of darkness.

Shireen Qudosi received her B.A in English from the University of California, Irvine, followed by a brief attendance at California Western School of Law. She left law school after a year to pursue independent religious studies. Her greatest education however did not come from her time at University, or from reading the sacred texts of any one religion, but rather from studying the perceptions of religious followers.
Her initial seven year journey into faith and religion lead her to be deeply spiritual, paving the way for a faceted understanding of Islam in the 21st century. Through recognizing the Muslim psyche, paired with a scriptural and historical analysis of Islam, Shireen Qudosi relays an understanding of the direction of the Muslim world, who despite being worlds apart economically or socially, still follow one set pattern of being.
Qudosi has closely followed the rise of Islam in Europe, paired with first hand observations of Muslim communities in Asia, the Middle East, and North America. She is a strong advocate for empowering moderate Muslims who are willing to challenge radical elements in Islam, as well as supporting Sufism as a counter to the growing reach of Wahhabism.
Her articles have appeared in Islamist Watch, the Middle East Forum, Muslim World Today, Family Security Matters, Pajamas Media, and the Green Prophet. Qudosi is a Sufi Muslim, a conservative, and of Middle Eastern/South Asian ancestry. She is the founder of REVOLUTION Islam, Babel Fish Communication, and does consulting work as a PR and Muslim Relations Specialist.

AARON NUNEZ-GROSS
As a Jewish Mexican-American, Aaron has lived a life between the south side of Chicago's Hyde Park and the sprawling farmlands in Indiana. The son of two scientists, Aaron spent years committed to "our obligation to rationalism”, dismissing piety as an opiate and religion a stick. It wasn’t until a lecture on quantum singularities in his college astrophysics class that he found reason and faith reconcilable.
Listening to his professor lecture on black holes while in his “Evolution of the Solar System” class, Aaron thought the concept of black holes paralleled what he’d read in the Zohar about the creation of the world. Considered the most important work in the Kabbalah, or Jewish mysticism, the Zohar discusses “a single infinitesimal point of immense density and energy which could not be seen.”
Concluding that rationalism could be found in religion, Aaron felt that he had the obligation to explore Judaism and theology in general. Eventually, he switched his major to Jewish Studies and traveled to Israel for the first time on a Taglit-Birthright Israel trip.
It was during his education at the University of Chicago that Aaron also developed an interest in politics and interned for former U.S. Rep. Rahm Emanuel, now President Obama’s chief of staff. Aaron is currently at the University of Chicago’s Newberger Hillel, where he serves as Engagement Associate.
With the fall of the Twin Towers, rose a thousand questions on Islam and its place in the world today. Despite the many attempts at grasping Islam, there still lacks a cohesive understanding of what Islam really is, and more importantly who its followers are.
The question doesn’t rest with the minority of Muslim terrorists that seem to have become the poster child for Islam, but rather a billion Muslims that stand in the shadows, and the millions more converting to Islam on a yearly basis. Who are these people and what is their role in today’s world?
We attempt to answer these questions and place a heavy emphasis on addressing the Islamic world itself, and stir within them an awakening to further understand their role and responsibility as a Muslim.
With 1.5 billion Muslims, there is considerable diversity in the range of followers in one of the world’s largest monotheistic faiths. The distinction goes far beyond just secular and non-secular Muslims. Muslims are diverse in not only their faith, but in their culture, their history, their language, and geographical influences. 1.5 billion diverse Muslims that still (with little exception) share parallel lives.
POLITICAL CROSSROADS
The Qudosi Chronicles began with an interest in covering the modern Islamic world and understanding the motivations of a group of people who, despite being worlds apart, still followed set patterns of behavior. But as Islam and its adherents fractioned and political shifts began fusing with religious motivations, it became clear to us that the next step was into the realm of politics.
The growth of Islamism, a political movement to redefine the fundamentals of Western jurisprudence, was first observed in Europe. As predicted, the movement that has gripped Europe is now just beyond the threshold of American society. It brings with it new challenges as we struggle to define ourselves in politically unstable waters. It raises new questions that test the parameters set by our Founding Fathers. With this, it becomes critical not only be aware of Islamist movements but to also have a sensitivity to prevailing political issues.
An international sociopolitical climate charged with religious and cultural tensions has led a number of individuals and groups to adopt a policy of appeasement. The policy of appeasement makes apologies where none are needed and over extends itself to an audience that does not reciprocate the effort. A situation of this capacity is void of truth and therefore all subsequent efforts on its behalf are bound to fail. We have witnessed this failure to the detriment of our own constitutional ideology as free speech is increasingly rebuked under the guise of equality and understanding.
A GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE
Beyond Islamism, we find outright terrorism that compromises our way of life. The events of 9-11 bore testimony to this. The expansion of terrorist networks, the evidence in their increasing refinement and mobility, and the ideology that propagates radical Islamic thought, are clear indicators of a problem that has been gaining ground far before the events of September 11th.
The concerns that directed us were never solely domestic. With globalization thrusting forward at an increasing pace, and with Europe’s recent history already serving as our present, the Qudosi Chronicles addresses issues of international interest to help readers shape a comprehensive view of situations that stretch beyond our boundaries.
SCIENCE AND FAITH
As we advance in technology, we see a greater merge between religion and science. Religious institutions around the world are reaching out more now than ever before the bridge the perceived gap between science and faith. The Qudosi Chronicles works to recognize these efforts as well as trends in scientific discoveries that can further help us understand our human condition.
THE QUDOSI CHRONICLES
The QC works to facilitate a cogent awareness of the so-termed East-West dichotomy, the commonly referred to “the clash of civilizations”, and finally the labeled “War on Terror”. While these labels hold a degree of merit, the root problem is far more complex. The QC was created out of a sense of duty and as a direct response to a growing need for truth and constant vigilance. What began as a small blog with only a handful of followers has now grown to include a dynamic team and a loyal following of readers with diverse backgrounds and beliefs.
News is no longer just in the hands of publishing giants and media moguls. Today’s breaking news comes from you. Insightful analysis and opinions free from commercial ties and media agendas is what makes citizen journalism the information break through of the 21st century. Citizen Journalism is that much more critical to a society that suffers from “dumbed down” fluff pieces or news with political bias, with 2009 being the year the newspaper died.
Death of the newspaper industry paved the way for an alternate form of information dissemination. Freedom of information paired with today’s technology empowers us to take an active role in what stories get our attention. Building a strong network of passionate like-minded individuals is crucial to the development of a strong digital forum ensuring truth and accuracy in journalism.
